Mandalorian Fight Animation

This is a short animation I created for an animation project at college. I put this together using Sequencer in Unreal 4, with animations that a friend and I created using Rokoko motion capture suits. After creating the animations, I imported them into Blender to apply them to the models and clean up any errors that appeared. While cleaning up the animations, I unfortunately started running out of time and so had to allow some errors in the later parts of the animation. I hid most of them using different camera angles, but for some I just had to hope they weren’t too noticable.

This was the first time I had ever used software like Sequencer, Blender and Rokoko Studio, aswell as the first time I had used motion capture suits. I am reasonably happy with the outcome.

Hi, my name is Alex.

I’ve been passionate about animation since I was six years old. I used to create short videos with my Star Wars Lego figures bringing my stories to life. I’ve been doing the same kind of thing ever since and when I had the opportunity to learn the skills and software needed to build and animate for games, I jumped at the chance. My love for video games meant that Game Design was an obvious choice for my degree and showed me that, actually, animation was the way I wanted to go. I am currently doing a Master's in Character and Creature Animation at the University of Hertfordshire. Before that I studied Game Design at the University of Wolverhampton.

I am proficient in Maya, Blender, and Unreal Engine, and also have experience of 3DS Max and Rokoko Motion Capture Software.
